I don't know if I was lucky, but I was able to see a dermatologist through West Dermatology, in Hillcrest, within a week, from the time I called for an appointment. They even had time slots, which worked well with my work schedule, which I think is rare. I thought that was great, compared to my last two experiences through UCSD Medical, where I had to wait more than 2 months each time. Although I really liked my doctor at UCSD, I had to try somewhere else after they told me I'd have to wait 3 months to see her. <br /> <br /> I stumbled across West Dermatology on my health insurance company's website and decided to try them out. To say the least, the service was impeccable and I will never go anywhere else for a dermatologist, as long as I live in San Diego. I highly recommend Dr. Mike Nelms, who was very nice and responsive. His assistant, Erin, was super cool also. <br /> <br /> I noticed that their receptionists answer the phone quickly and I didn't have to go through a long, drawn out recording each time, to speak to someone. Parking is next door to the building and discounted to patients. Lastly, when I called to ask questions after my visit, the nurse assistant, Erin, was very responsive and when she became unsure in answering, she handed the phone directly to Dr. Nelms. Are you kidding me? ??! !!...Who can actually speak to their doctor on the phone these days??? <br /> <br /> West Dermatology, Dr. Nelms...go there! <br />
