I would NEVER EVER recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone
I would NEVER EVER recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone who loves their pet. My sister just recently (2 days ago) took her puppy in to be spayed (one of the most popular procedures a vet could perform in my opinion). After the procedure was done, her puppy was not coherent, did not recognize faces until they were VERY close, and was walking into walls. At first her and her fiance thought it was the effect of the anesthesia or perhaps that it was because they had to slow her breathing down, but the doctor there recommended they bring her back in the next day... and for free so automatically you can tell they did something wrong. My sister left her puppy there for observation the next day, where they never mentioned any other complication with her surgery. They brought her home again later the 2nd day, but she had not improved much. Today, being the third day bring her puppy in, they still did not disclose any other complications with the surgery until her fiance's father (a doctor) called in inquiring about the surgery. Turns out they LIED about the slowed breathing. They didn't slow her breathing, they completely STOPPED it, because they either failed to keep her breathing tube in, or they did not even bother to put one in. Either way, they FAILED to assist her breathing, which could be the explanation for her usual recovery period, her lack of facial recognition, and her inability to walk straight. In addition, by not supporting her breathing, her brain swelled and the vets there had to give the puppy medication to reduce the swelling the her brain... something else that they failed to mention on my sister's first visit to pick her poor puppy up.
I will no doubt be investigating this terrible unethical practice. It was my understanding that ANY complications that occur during surgery must be disclosed to the owners when the owners arrive to pick-up their dog on the first visit, not after the 3rd when another doctor calls in. Also their lack of attentiveness to support the puppies breathing will be in my report to the Veterinary Medical Board. If you love your pet, don't take him/her here!
