Ok, well it may have taken us 30 years to get here, but this is definitely one of the best Italian places in San Diego. Our first visit here was in January of 2011 and the only negative about the entire night was that we waited so long. Old-School is an understatement, but the food was spectacular. Veal Saltimbocca and Shrimp in a Lobster Reduction - Oh Yeah!! - Waitstaff was five-star as they come. You expect this kind of service when you go to a super-expensive place, not when you are at a local spot in the neighborhood. This isn't the Olive Garden, so be prepared to break out the gold card, but it's definitely not going to break the bank :-) I brought a bottle of Chianti and they decanted it for us and treated us as if we were VIP's even though it was our first visit. We will be back

Baci is an amazing restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly, Italian, heavily accented, dressed in tuxcedos and more than willing to take as much time as needed to give you a great dining experience. The decor is nice, classy in an old school way and there is plenty of seating. The vibe is mellow and happy, far from stuffy. The food is amazing. Maybe the best Italian I've had in San Diego. I had the veal chop, reminded me of my nona's. Check this place out don't let the locale steer you away. Don't judge the book by it's cover.

One of the better places in SD that serve authentic italian food. Everything on their menu is good and service was jusy okay.
