I ate lunch here with co-workers and we were all very pleased with the service and food. The oysters were some of the best any of us had ever eaten. The swordfish was served with an amazing butter sauce. We indulged on 4 desserts, my personal favorite being the banana cheesecake. Definitely recommend this place!

My husband and I had an opportunity to stop into the Brigantine yesterday. Of course, we took advantaged of their Taco Tuesdays menu and ordered 2 of their fish tacos for $2.50 each. (You are basically saving a buck off of each taco--it's nothing exciting in terms of savings but it's a nice San Diego tradition)

The fish tacos were delicious. We also shared oysters rockefeller which was just alright. I thought it tasted a bit too salty for my liking.

Aside from that, the service was great. We sat outside on the bar stools overlooking the Del Mar Fair grounds. The interior setting of the restaurant was a bit outdated and old-schooled and dark. I'm glad I sat outside as I prefer more light filled spaces.

I love finding new places or being taken to them.

My wonderful friend, Amy, took me to lunch at Brigantine in Del Mar. I've been to the one on Coronado and wasn't very impressed. Therefore, I really did not have high expectations for this one. Whoa! Was I wrong - this place was amazing! This restaurant has a cottage feel and the scenery is beautiful. We sat in the patio area that was enclosed with big glass windows so that you can catch the sunset or the horse races at the Del Mar Fairgrounds during the right season.

We ordered a seafood dip and some salads. I had a small shrimp salad and she had a steak salad made to order. If I wasn't there during a work lunch I would have ordered something else on their menu. Just thinking about their menu makes me salivate. This was definitely a 10 rating in my book.

This restaurant and bar are an absolute must for your list of things to do, if you are in Del Mar for any reason. It has great food and wonderful people work there who make you feel like family and not company when you visit. It has a fantastically great view of the Del Mar Fair grounds, something I don't think you can see anywhere else. An all-around great place to visit.

The Brigantine in Del Mar offers excellent food, friendly and attentive service, a family friendly atmosphere, and good prices. There were six in our party, and although we arrived on a busy evening, we were seated and served promptly. Everyone on the staff was courteous and helpful, and each of our meals was perfectly prepared. I would certainly return there again and would recommend the Brigantine to my friends.
