I’ve only been here once with some friends, I had never heard of it but apparently they knew it was famous here for its’ pizza. We got there kind of early and waited on a Sunday mid morning for them to open. It was worth the wait. I’m not generally a big fan of the thin crust but this was really, really good. The pesto had good flavor. I really loved the way the inside was decorated, we sat in the back where it feels like you are outside under a canopy or something. It definitely provided a good feel to the place.
Bronx Pizza is the best New York style pizza in San Diego. The crust is thin and crisp on the bottom and the edges, and slightly chewy in the middle.
My favorite is the eggplant. Oh yum. Lots of eggplant cover the top of this pie. Simply perfection.
The service is right out of the Bronx too. But, deep down the guys are all softies. One day I had my boys with me. I was holding each of them up to watch them throwing the dough and making the pies. One of the guys came over to show them how it is done and sent us home with pizza dough slung over both my boys hands. They are four and this happened almost a year ago, they are still talking about how at Bwronx Pizza they gave them dough and they played with it and played with it!
This isn't your typical delivery joint. In fact, they don't deliver! Be prepare to wait in line and come with an open mind. Then menu is limited. This is because they have perfected the pies that are on the menu.Don't mess with perfection, right? Classic thin crust, appropriate amount of sauce, quality ingrediants
I've been to NY but never had pizza there, so this review is not about whether or not Bronx Pizza is authentic NY style pizza. The pizza here is simply tasty and a better alternative to Dominos and Pizza Hut if you can make your way to this pizza spot.
The service is mediocre but the prices are fair. The lines can be long but the wait is very short. We generally stand in line and order pizza by the slice. The one time I did a carryout order was the only time I was pretty disappointed with the pizza: the toppings were extremely sparse and we didn't see this until we brought the pizza home!! So it's better to eat there than do a carryout!
