Cafe Viennese is to die for
I had the opportunity to attend an event at Caffe Calabria last week. We were able to learn a little bit more about their coffee and actually got to take a tour and see where they make it. They have recently partnered with Fresh and Easy so you'll see their coffee also in those stores too.
I was kind of overwhelemed with all of the information but the gist is that they are very generous to the coffee farms all over the world where they source their beans. The owner has visited (I think) all of them. We also learned that fair trade coffee isn't always fair. I'll always always pay a little bit extra for quality coffee that's sourced in a moral (for lack of a better word) fashion. So yes, outside of Fresh and Easy if you buy coffee from Caffe Calabria directly you're going to pay a bit more, but will get what you pay for.
I had a Cafe Viennese that was like a dessert. I got it with nonfat milk even. The owner says it's the best drink on the menu. I liked that the cafe itself is spacious, well decorated and a place I'd hang out at if it was closer to my house. I found the parking a bit difficult, however.
