ok chinese food.
I only come here cuz my friend used to work here and I'd probably only come here if he was with me since he gets the hook up. lol

When I came here we had the egg drop soup for intros then segwayed into our main course which was the sesame chicken with fried rice. It was plenty to share with left overs!

The staff is definitely friendly and attentive. This place has been around for awhile and if you just get annoyed with pretentious places like pei wei or subpar places like chins... then this is the place to go.

Being Asian, I've had better which is why I give it an A-Ok rating. They seem to have a standard menu in which many restaurants tend to adhere to. The food isn't amazingly great or bad. It just lacks flavor in certain areas.

Gourmet Chinese Resturant
My family and I have been going to China Wokery for over 10 years. We hardly go to other Chinese Resturants anymore, nothing in the San Diego area can compare to China Wokery. If you want fresh, tasty and no MSG additives then this is the place. Most dishes are between $10 $16. This is a great family resturant and the servers are always wonderful to the kids. The decor is very unique, great conversation piece if you are inviting guests.

Our go-to place for Chinese food!
I've been a customer of China Wokery since right after it opened. It is the best affordable chinese restaurant I know either in San Diego county or in Orange county. The vegetables are always fresh. The cooks accomplish their tasks with as little oil as you can imagine. I like the variety that is available, and being a vegetarian, I won't even try some of the dishes.
The wait staff is very accomplished. Their English is uniformly good to great! It is a delight to watch them use large tablespoons to make mu-shu pancake dishes...who knew you could substitute spoons for chopsticks! It seems like most of the staff has been there since the restaurant opened, so it is clear the owner is treating them right.
The decor is unusual and fascinating. It seals the deal for making the place absolutely one-of-a-kind!

Exceptional Food & Service
If you're looking to take a step outside of "regular" Chinese food and give healthy traditional Chinese food a try, then do yourself a favor and check out China Wokery in San Marcos. The decor is really neat with swords on the walls amongst other Chinese relics.

MY traditional order includes Chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. And, I'm a HUGE fan (and advocate) of the Mu Shu pork, it's phenomenal. And I usually end the dinner with green tea ice cream. Other dishes I'd recommend are the assorted appetizer platter (could easily feed 2 for a full dinner). Of course you can't go wrong with Sesame Chicken, I always ask them to spice it up. The Wonton soup is to die for... pretty much everything is good, just tell the server what you typically like and they can probably steer you in the right direction. Just make sure and ask about dishes because there are some hidden gems in this menu!

Every time we eat here we get great service, the servers are really attentive and never leave my glass empty. This is a huge thing for me because I'm a big drinker. If I don't have a drink (especially with spicy food) I get antsy and upset. So the simple fact of having a full glass throughout a meal is worth it.

Let's just say I'm typically a 15% straight-up tipper, but usually I end up leaving 20% here because the caring staff actually goes the extra mile.
