When someone comes from out of town and they crave pizza, I always take them to this Filippi's location. It's nice to walk around Little Italy, then go through the Italian market in order to get into the restaurant. Once inside the pizza is great, as well as the wine served in small glasses instead of a wine glass. I love the amount of cheese in the pizza as well as their antipasto, from time to time I try other dishes like lasagna, but always get back to the pizza.

This place serves up tasty pizza. Located in little Italy (shocking I know!) it's truly one of the best places around. I stopped in here for a late lunch with a business client and was embarrassed that I ate so much pizza. But it was THAT good! To be fair he also ate more than his share of pizza! I'm a meat lover so I got every piece of meat they had piled high on the pizza! It was absolutely divine! The people are nice and parking can be a little tricky because of the limited available parking and those one way streets! But worth the parking mayhem once you get there!

I grew up with Filippi's, and she would probably shoot me for delivering anything less than 5 stars. (Sorry mom.)

I guess I'm just the type of girl who likes some good crust with her toppings - not just a piece of soggy bread underneath a pound of cheese. The line out the door to this place is not surprising; in a city now full of "thin crust" style pizzas, people are probably grateful for the heavyness of a Filippi's pizza. Though I'm still wondering when they're going to start making us sign a liability form before ordering.

But don't get me wrong - they still have very fresh ingredients and know how to do toppings. But that's like giving a 500 lb man a fresh shave and a new shirt - you're still missing the basics of a really quality product.

I like FPG more than Bronx pizza and that's pretty good pizza also.
