For the past 47 years, this venue has been serving up authentic Italian cuisine in San Diego's Little Italy and is still going strong. What started out as a small deli and grocery has morphed into a quaint sit down restaurant with an open-air kitchen. Pizza is the specialty here, but the spaghetti is really a treat. If like the idea of dining at a "throw back" pizza joint, this is the place for you.
Pros: The deli and grocery in the front part of the venue is a treat to browse, even if you do not buy anything.
Cons: Often times there are long waits for a table. Also, the parking in Little Italy is difficult at best.
Price Range: $10 - $25

I like this Filippis better than the one in Chula Vista. I love the mini store in the entrance. The food is good and it comes in really large portions.
Pros: Large portions
Cons: Large portions (i can't handle it)
Price Range: $1 - $5
