I'm truly surprised by the negative comments voiced by others.
I'm truly surprised by the negative comments voiced by others. I have used Dr. Ungar even before she had her own practice and was working as a relief vet. She has been my regular vet for 18 years now and has cared for all five of my dogs.
I don't know of any other vet that will call the pet owner after hours just to check on how the pet...and the owner are doing. In true holistic fashion, she cares for the pet and the owners well-being.
In addition to western veterinary medicine, she is certified in veterinary acupuncture. If acupuncture, chinese herbs, or homeopathic remedies are a good option, those are available.
Often I've been told to go to the local drug store for an over the counter treatment when that will do the trick.
I own a pet sitting business and have referred dozens of clients to Kensington Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Jorden is the best cat vet I know.
As a pet sitter, I've met many of the vets in my service area and have been in their back rooms with my client's pets. Dr. Ungar's clinic is the cleanest, most organized practice I've seen.
If a medical condition would be better treated elsewhere, they have no problem referring you out to a specialist.
Veterinary medicine has advanced so much in the last 10 years. Tests and treatments unheard of in the past for our pets are now readily available. Like human medicine, it's not always cheap to find an accurate diagnosis.
I have never felt like I was being overcharged, ripped off, or mislead by this practice. I've never heard any of my clients that use this clinic say that either.
I can't imagine going anywhere else for my pet care.
