Piattis is the best restaurant in La Jolla shores. I've been there many times for business dinners and lunches as well as dates. I was just there this week for a business dinner and reminded of how great it it. It's always busy so you know that accounts for a lot. Highly recommend reservations especially if you want to sit out on their very nice patio. They have some of the best Lasagne I have ever had in my life. They also have a great wine list. The service is absolutely stellar and their desert menu is something that can not be ignored. They have really great Tiramisu. This restaurant is worth making a trip for.

I'll have to agree with most of the other reviewers that Piatti is an awesome restaurant. You can dine al fresco or inside. I will say that if you have a large group and sit inside, it may be a little hard to talk. It's a popular place and very "alive".

I will say that their fried calamari is incredible. So is the Osso Bucco. And the pizza.

Piatti is also one of the greener restaurants around town. They use recycled paper, half their produce is locally grown and they convert their grease to biodiesel.
The also donate money to local schools and causes.

Parking can be tough if you go during a popular time. We usually eat a little early so it doesn't matter too much.

Piatti's is a great place for a romantic dinner for two to a large birthday celebration. I celebrated an anniversary as well as my bday last year and both times the service was friendly and the food was tasty. The patio is lovely and quaint with a large shade providing tree that is decorated with pretty white lights for an intimate and cozy feel. For my bday, they surpised me by laying out individual menus with the titie, "Happy Birthday Janet" for all of the guests. It was a special touch that made me remember this restaurant even more. And of course, like everyone else says, the garlic dip for the bread is amazing! I can't wait to go back for my bday this year!

Fried calamari here is what its about. I loved the grilled swordfish, i've never even had swordfish til now but loved it. The mocha expresso ice cream as dessert is a good finale to your meal.

The was our fist visit to Piatti in La Jolla and it was so good. I had a great grilled chicken pasta with sun dried tomatoes, my husband had a very nice grilled swordfish meal and we had a great time. The waitress was very attentive, the wine was good, and not too expensive. The food was great and the price was very reasonable for a nice dinner in a nice location and the dessert was good too! We will go back.
