My boys love going to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. There are lots of exhibits with things to touch and move which makes it fun for the little ones. As they grow you can incorporate some of the educational aspects of the exhibits, and teach them how and why they work. The installations change to keep things interesting. Right now upstairs there is a room filled with Keva Planks to build what ever your imagination and steady hands will let you. My boys loved this area so much I had to buy a bunch for them for their birthday. There is also a kid area for children under five. It can get pretty crowded, but there are lots of hands on things for kids to explore. it is really a fun outing!

They have a great membership deal that allows you entrance to just the exhibits, leaving out the IMAX portion of the membership fee. This is great if you don't want to spend the extra money for the IMAX tickets.

The Ruben H Fleet Science center is one of our favorite museums to visit in Balboa park. Our four year old twin boys always have a great time here. Almost everything in the museum is hands on, and there is an endless variety of things to do. A couple of their favorites are playing in the pretend grocery store, and throwing beach balls into a column of air that suspends them mid air. The admission fee is pretty reasonable. The cost is $10 for adults and $8.75 for children. There is an IMAX theater here, and admission to that is separate from the museum fee. They also offer a one year family membership for $53. If you go just twice, this pays for itself. We’ve had the family membership for a few years now, and use it a lot.

Good for boys, im not sure girls like this type of stuff.

The Ruben H. Fleet Science Center is one of my favorite museums in Balboa Park. Geared primarily toward the upper elementary school to high school crowd, there is something here for everyone. Recently renovated Kid City can keep the zero to five set happy while the older crowd explores the interactive exhibits and catches a film in the IMAX Theater.

I just became a member of the Reuben Science Center, located at Balboa Park, in front of the big fountain.

It is a fantastic place and the membership is so well-priced! I actually got the family membership without the IMAX tickets which was about $20 cheaper.

Aside from the floor gallery of wonderful science displays for adults and kids alike, they have a FANTASTIC play, explore area upstairs called KID city. It's an area for children 5 and under and there is so many nifty things for the young ones to do inside....even the parents enjoy participating in the activities.

There's a computer station with lots of fun, learning activities, a play house, supermarket, blocks, play food, and balls everywhere to feed into these air tubes.

The kids LOVE it. It is such a nice place to take the kids especially on a cold or hot day. But be warned that this place can get very busy on Free Tuesdays as well as during the summer with all the kids out of school.
