If you have never been aboard a carrier in your lifetime, then the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum is the perfect place for you to go. Located in the military community of San Diego, you will be taken aback by the size, equipment, and efficiency of everything military related aboard the carried. I personally have been aboard a carrier, so it's not a museum that I would be impressed by, however if you have never been aboard a carrier, or just want to get up close to everything on a carrier, then it's a cool place to go. Students would enjoy visiting this museum, especially when they are studying wars or military history. Be careful when you take along very young children however, it's a lot of walking, and I guarantee it will wear the little ones out. The museum generally isn't crowded, and there is a lot to see whether you are a military buff, or just a civilian looking to learn more about the military and it's fleet of carriers.
