Vn De Syrah is a SUPER cool and unique wine bar experience. It's fun, cool and there is nothing else like it. I've been numerous times for business and pleasure and once you go you won't forget it. It has a very cool location in the San Diego's gaslamp quarter. its entrance is somewhat hidden behind a magical green wall and has an uber cool Alice In Wonderland theme to it. They have a
resident sommelier amd offer wine tastings. It's not a restaurant serving full meals but they have yummy appetizers in the form of cheese boards, meat boards, veggie boards, and delicious desert boards. They are well known for their great wine selection but also have some unique cocktails. I highly recommend this place. Check it out and you will not regret it or forget it. Have fun finding the door!

So we had an event at Vin de Syrah last night. It was the first time I had done a formal tasting there. I had heard that Adam, their resident Sommelier, was fantastic and he did not disappoint. We tried 2 wines, a red and a white and had charcuterie boards on the table for people to snack on. Adam told us about each of the wines. He was super entertaining. I also thought the price for all this was very fair, given the quality.

Whoever thought of the decor deserves major props. I'm not sure if it would have the same allure without it. It is like going down the rabbit hole a la Alice in Wonderland. I do think the video camera is a nice touch. The door is hidden behind fake foliage and people are never sure how to get in. You can watch these people on TV inside the wine parlor.

I had a glass of their $5 happy hour red wine and it was really good. Far superior to most other $5 happy hour wines. I would definitely go back.

I'm the type of person right at home with draft beer at a dive bar, so going to a wine tasting event at Vin de Syrah was out of my comfort zone, but I loved it.

It is very nice and pricey, so it would be more of a place to go on a special ocassion, get nice & dressed up and go out to enjoy a night in the town.

Every now and then I'll go downtown and try to class it up just a bit. I went here about a month ago and it was a really great experience, getting in is a blast (I won't ruin it for you by over explaining). Once your inside your surrounded by the beautiful people, and a lot of expensive but well made drinks. I would suggest getting here early since it is very popular and there is often a line.

This place is a great spot in the gaslamp. I love the decor- very much like falling down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. The grass along the walls and butterflies hanging from the ceiling give the place a lot of character.

I don't know much about wine, but I am learning. A few months ago I had the opportunity to attend an event led by the house sommelier. Adam was very personable and focused on just a few bits and pieces about the wine we tried, which was great (as opposed to having too much information). The appetizers I tried were also great.

I have attended on a Saturday night, and their is usually quite a long line, but it is well worth it.
