You don't have to travel very far in order to do your part to greatly help others. There is a convenient branch of the San Diego Blood Bank located right in El Cajon. The East County Donor Center is clean and brightly lit. It is staffed with friendly, professional, efficient people. It is recommended to make an appointment but walk ins are always welcome. Personally, I most frequently walk in and have never had to wait long. When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire. This is required since they are very careful about the quality of the blood supply. There are certain exclusionary factors. Once the questionnaire is completed, a nurse will briefly interview you and check your blood pressure. Before long, you are escorted back to begin the very charitable donation of your blood. This takes minutes and is quite painless. It doesn't take much time at all to do your part to help others. Your are even helping yourself in a way since you earn points for each donation which traded in for various items. After your donation, you are asked to rest in the cantine where snacks and drinks are cheerfully dispensed.

Chicken That's a Little Different Than The Rest
El Pollo Loco in El Cajon offers chicken prepared a little differently. Instead of being coated in batter and fried, their chicken is marinated and then grilled over open flames. It is so freshly prepared, that you can see the flames leaping behind the counter as the chicken is being cooked. It comes crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There are various combinations you can order. The sides are varied and a little unusual. The barbequed beans are flavorful and the corn on the cob delicious. The french fries are crispy and well seasoned. The meals are served with your choice of either corn or flour tortillas. They have a salsa bar where you can help your self to several different toppings.

Service with a Smile
Toyota of El Cajon appears to be a typical dealership. What is not apparent at first glance is their dedication to customer service. They are unfailingly polite and many times when I have taken my car in for servicing, it was ready for pick up ahead of the estimated time. When it's returned to me after serving, it has even been washed. The one time I was a little disappointed was over the issue of a recall notice. Usually, one can bring their car in for regular servicing with no appointment required. This time, I was informed in order to fix the defect that an appointment would be necessary. It seemed to me that if an service that you are paying for can be done without an appointment that a recall would be even more eagerly addressed. This appears to be rectified since the lastest recall was cheerfully taken care of without an appointment. Ordinarily, any issue I have has has been promptly and efficiently taken care of.

Great Local Food
This bustling cafe has the best values on delicious food that you can find in El Cajon. On of the best values is their Antique Value breakfasts. They are very filling and well prepared. The menu is extensive and it is sometimes hard to make up your mind as to what to get. The service is good and extremely friendly. You can even top off your meal as you pay by dipping into the candy jar kept by the register. A sign of a good restaurant is how busy it is. I have only been there in the morning but at that time, each and every time I've been there, it's been pretty busy. It's not so busy that you have to wait, though. Everyone is seated promptly and cheerfully.

Great Clothing Selection!!!!
Kohl's in Santee seems to be doing very well. It has the largest selection of clothing and housewares of any of the Kohl's locations in San Diego. They always have many items on sale and if you watch for their sales, you can even do better! At certain times, they offer percentage off scratchers and Kohl's cash for purchases that are of a certain amount. They schedule early bird and night owl hours featuring special values. New stock is constantly being put out on the sales floor. I personally need a 12 step program for this place! During their biggest sales, at peak times, the parking lot does get a little crowded. On the day after Thanksgiving...watch out! The terrific sales and wonderful stock draw people like magnets. The waiting time to check out can be very long. It must be approached with the right spirit, though. Everyone is in a holiday mood looking forward to the joyous season.
