Do you like crowds?
Then come to the Kitchen Witch Gourmet for cookware or classes! They have a great variety of things to help you prepare every kind of food, and their staff know their way around. Good thing, because I tend to get lost in this small store, just due to the crowding. I guess they want to offer us what we need, even if we can't see the forest for the trees.
Classes are limited in size, but I still felt like it was too close, even after their remodel. They bring in popular chefs and seem to be very successful, based on their continually full schedule, so check it out for yourself!

Big store has all you need
Remember to shop around the edges for the healthiest choices, but know that you can get just about anything you need in the chewy center, too!
I go here for conventional produce and packaged goods, as well as baking needs. They have an extensive bakery and deli.
Other choices in this shopping center include Discount Tire (shop while you wait for a free rotation) and CVS (formerly Long's, with the same friendly staff), as well as a card/gift store, a bike store, a French bakery. and the Kitchen Witch store and cooking school.
There is plenty of parking, so play all day!

Fantastic food, on the beach
Jake's has been my favorite restaurant ever since their phone number was just one digit different than mine, and I started getting dinner reservation requests. I thought I'd better check this place out, and never regretted it.
Right on the beach, with talented chefs and well-trained wait staff, and a full bar staffed by tenders who pride themselves in a perfect cocktail.
The happy hours can't be beat! Specials on drinks of course, but the food is what I go for. There are usually specialty appetizers as well as great regular bar menu items, and I love that most of them are NOT fried. Try to get there for sunset, any time of year.

My mouth says WOW!
Jorge's has everything you want in a fast Mexican food restaurant: friendly, heavily-accented Spanish speaking staff; upbeat Spanish radio surrounding you no matter the time of day; plastic tables, chairs and flatware; and amazing food. Try the chicken with mole, because it's not that easy to find and it is fantastic! Also a big fan of their chicken tortilla soup. Almost as good as La Especial Norte (Highway 101 in Leucadia). The burritos of all variety have been voted two thumbs up by my friends and family. All portion sizes seem to be generous and the prices are very good. Buen provecha!
